Food from the other side.
Telling stories of everyday homes.

Banquet All is an exploration of people and how they establish (or not) their version of home through food. Living abroad for most of my life and coming from a history of immigration, I continue to question my identity, where I am from and how do I bring a piece of any home with me.

How has eating changed in a more transitional and globalised world? Celebrating diversity and boiling down recipes, Banquet All takes a look at the stories behind the meals of different cultures, circumstances and beliefs. Here you’ll find, recipes, illustrations and photographs of my food thoughts.

This is not your regular recipe book or blog. The recipes featured are not meant to be prescriptive, but a dissection of current food culture and culture. In the process of putting this project together, many participants were hesitant sharing their food and stressed about whether it was good enough for others. Many of these recipes are private, home cooking, made just for sustaining the human body, and some are for sharing and entertaining. It’s not meant to tell you what to eat.

Through this project, I hope to find and share a better understanding of how people eat, live, relate to where they are from and create their own space. I believe we can see these changes and global issues in food.

Welcome to the first series, which begins with my close group of friends who all happen to be creators. I hope you enjoy what they have created for you.
